The Inside Line
Editorial standards
How theKlub researches, writes, checks and corrects the guides on its blog. Who runs theKlub is on About theKlub.
Who writes our guides
theKlub's guides are written and published by theKlub's editorial team and signed with the company's name, not a writer's. The company answers for every one: The Klub Technologies Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 15597572. A post by a named person, such as an interview, carries that person's name and profile.
- We sign guides as theKlub because no one person makes them: a guide is researched, drafted with AI assistance, edited and approved by our team, and a host who knows the place can add their own words or check it.
- When a host has checked a guide, the guide says so under its title and at its foot, with a link to the host's page.
How a guide is researched
Every guide starts from questions people search for, and is built from named sources and theKlub's own data. Each number, place, route, event, hotel and date in it comes from one or the other, and the sources are listed with links at the foot of the guide.
- Sources: the official one first (the national park, the resort, the race organiser, the governing body), then voices that are not the place's own, such as a federation, a local authority or the press. A guide cites at least three publishers, and a place's claim about itself (the highest, the longest, the only) goes in only when an independent page says it too.
- Our own data: the hotels in our catalogue, our hosted trips, and climate tables of each month's average high, low and rain days over the last ten full years, from Open-Meteo's historical weather data.
- No prices. A guide never states a price, a deposit or a hotel rate, because they change by the day; the hotel and trip cards beside the words show the current price.
- Photographs are ours where we have them, of our destinations, trips and hotels. Otherwise they are stock photographs credited to their photographer, from Wikimedia Commons, Unsplash or Pexels. We never use AI-generated photographs.
AI assistance and editing
We draft guides with AI assistance: a language model writes from the sources and data above and is told to add nothing else. Software then checks the draft, and a person on our team edits and approves it. Nothing is published without that approval, and every guide drafted this way says so at its foot.
- Before a guide can be approved, every number has to trace to our data or a cited source, or it is flagged and the guide waits until an editor confirms or removes it. A sentence that states a price is taken out, every link to another page on theKlub has to reach a live page, and a stock photograph carries its photographer's credit.
- The editor reads the guide as a reader would, against its sources, and rewrites what does not hold.
- From late October 2026, a guide about a place where one of our hosts leads a trip needs that host's own words, or their check, before it can be approved.
- AI does not choose what we write about: topics come from what people search for, our destinations and trips, and the seasons.
Hotels, hosts and partners
theKlub is a booking platform: the hotels and hosted trips a guide shows are ones you can book with us, and we earn from those bookings. What a guide tells you about a place comes from its cited sources and our data, and a hotel is marked Klub Verified only when our own team has checked it for that sport.
- Hosts are the athletes, coaches and creators who lead our trips. When a host answers our questions about a place, their answers appear word for word, as a quote in their name. When a host checks a guide, they read a preview and tell us it looks right or what to change, and the guide then names them as its reviewer.
- The hotels in a guide come from our catalogue of hotels chosen for sport. Klub Verified means our team checked a hotel for that one sport: facilities such as bike storage or a gym, and how close the routes, slopes, trails or courts are.
Corrections and feedback
If something in a guide is wrong or out of date, email info@theklub.world with the guide's address and what needs changing. We check it against the sources and, when we got it wrong, correct the guide. When a correction changes what a guide says, the Updated date at its top moves with it.
- Our automatic link checks keep a guide's links pointing at live pages; they do not change what it says, so they leave its Updated date alone.
- The same address, info@theklub.world, takes any other feedback on a guide: a place we should cover, or a source we should read.
